Sustainability - Thinking and acting sustainable

Public Panel Discussion Business Ethics
With personalities from science and operational practice

Sustainability! – Hardly any keyword has been having such a career in the last two decades. The term is as popular as vague. Though it is often reduced unilaterally to environmental aspects, the concept however is based on three pillars: economic objectives, social aspects and environmental issues.

But how can the ecologic, economic and social dimensions be thought together, how do we want to achieve prosperity, fairness and quality of life? Which concepts do exist in theory and in practice? On what kind of strategies of sustainable development focus companies, how do they transfer them into products and processes? Do consumers reward such behaviour or does "the market" ask for stricly economic solutions? In case of conflict of aims do economic rationality and ethical arguments compete against each other or do they add to each other? In short: How can one think and act sustainable?
